Qikiqtaaluk Fisheries Corporation is a company focused on the economic and social development of Canadian Arctic communities. Halibut and shrimp fishing are fundamental to their economy, which is why they entrusted our shipyard with the construction of the modern Saputi II, a 79-metre factory trawler with an ice-class reinforced hull capable of operating in waters with heavy ice concentration and holds with a capacity of 800 tonnes of shrimp or 1,200 tonnes of fish.
The onboard processing plant is at the forefront of both halibut and shrimp processing. She is equipped with automatic bycatch separators, a shrimp grading machine, batch cooking lines, and a complete halibut production line, allowing flexible operations across different product types.
Freezing is fully automated, and the final stage of the production process includes a robotic system for sorting, palletizing, and film wrapping, ensuring efficient storage even under harsh maritime conditions.
