Tauriko has been commissioned by Napier for transporting fish in the Norwegian aquaculture industry. This vessel utilizes the latest technology in the sector by incorporating onboard Stun & Bleed systems, which not only improve fish quality upon landing but also reduce production chain times.
Tauriko is equipped with 8 fish processing units capable of sorting and processing 36,000 fish per hour, a bleeding system, and saltwater refrigerated tanks with a capacity of 980 m³, including an ozone system, complying with the most stringent Norwegian environmental, ethical, and quality requirements.
The vessel has an overall length of 83.7 metres and reaches speeds of 17 knots, powered by a single 5,200 kW diesel engine and a 2,000 kWe PTO/PTI alternator. She features two fixed-pitch bow and stern thrusters and accommodation for 17 people on board.
