The Sabah was commissioned by the Public Authority for Agriculture & Fish Resources of Kuwait and built by Freire Shipyard to safeguard fisheries within Kuwait’s Exclusive Economic Zone. Her design integrates a broad range of capabilities into a single platform, making her an exceptionally versatile and effective asset.
Powered by two 2,880 kW engines, Sabah can reach speeds of over 30 knots. She accommodates a 16-person crew during patrol missions and has an operational endurance of 2,000 nautical miles. The vessel is specifically engineered to operate in extreme climatic conditions, including sea temperatures of up to 34°C.
A 7-meter rigid inflatable boat (RIB) is carried astern for maritime interventions and search and rescue operations. Sabah is also equipped with a 3.3-tonne Palfinger crane, allowing for efficient and reliable cargo handling and transport operations.
