Qatar University is another prestigious international institution that has placed its trust in our shipyard for the construction of its oceanographic research vessel.
The RV Janan is one of the most sophisticated research vessels in the Arabian Gulf and the Middle East. She is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and hybrid propulsion technology.
The vessel is designed to operate in the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Gulf of Oman, with a range of up to 4,500nm. She can conduct oceanographic, geological, and hydrographic surveys, collect samples at various depths, measure physical, chemical, and biological parameters, and support climate and atmospheric research.
She is also fitted with a dynamic positioning system, a desalination plant, environmentally friendly wastewater treatment systems, ice production facilities, and dedicated capabilities for academic training and regional scientific cooperation.
