Volstad Surveyor is an offshore vessel commissioned by the Norwegian shipping company Volstad Shipping AS and designed for operations in offshore oil fields. The demanding DNV class notation (✠1A1, SF, E0, Dynpos AUTR, CLEAN, COMF-C(3)V(3), HELDK-SH-Ice C, NAUT-OSV) attests to her high performance standards.
She features diesel-electric propulsion with a total installed power of 7,300 kW, including two 2,200 kW azimuth thrusters, a retractable 1,400 kW thruster, and two 1,150 kW bow thrusters, all designed to minimize noise and vibrations and ensure maximum comfort for 62 people on board.
A 70-tonne crane with a maximum reach of 25 metres is among the vessel’s notable deck equipment. A 10-tonne crane, a 3-tonne gantry crane, and an additional 1.5-tonne crane in the hangar complete the cargo handling capabilities.
The vessel features a helideck at the bow, a hangar for Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), a moonpool for deep-water operations, stabilizer tanks, and anti-list compensation tanks for cargo operations, as well as a high level of onboard safety and evacuation capability.
