Lengthening
The modifications made to the vessel Minchos Octavo consisted primarily of the following activities:
A five-meter lengthening. This required sectioning the vessel 150 mm aft of the midship frame and subsequently assembling a new five-meter-long and beamed section. This section comprises the following sub-sections: a ballasted box keel, a double bottom, a main deck section, an upper deck section, four new storage lockers, and bridge deck walkways.
A complete redesign of the fishing deck (main deck). The freezing capacity on the fishing deck was substantially increased by expanding from one freezing tunnel to four. Additionally, the mess hall was enlarged, and the forward head was modified.
These works involved modifying several steel bulkheads on this deck and all the vessel’s hatches.
Finally, a new block has been built on the castle deck to expand the accommodation; this new block adds two new cabins and a new toilet and laundry room to the ship.
